Opposite Mess Hall

Jess Barnes, The former Chef of Quince, is now running a restaurant of his own with the guy behind WTF Bar & Gallery in Sukhumvit soi 51. The place is called 'Opposite Mess Hall'.

Nose to tail eating concept remains firmly. Scrumptious treats like Smoked Bone marrow dumpling in beef broth or Duck waffle (Duck leg, crispy duck skin,duck liver pate) are strongly recommended.

Look forward to mouth watering daily specialities like Cured Ox Tongue or Onglet Steak.

Buns and croquette can never be more fancy with seasonal ingredients. The selection changed every few days. For Bun, Pulled pork is on regular menu. There were Squid Bun and Beef&Mustard croquette on the day of my visit.

Refreshing playful salad like Fig&Buffalo curd or Crab Salad with Ajo Blanco, cucumber, Chorizo Oil. Or Warm potato salad with Artichoke and Confit Makerel Sicilian Style.

If you need some spice to boost up your meal, try Fried Chicken with Kimchi. Their homemade Kimchi is surprisingly hot and spicy.

Dessert comes in only a few choices. Chamomile tart or Rose Water milk granita was a fancy one. Granola woth summer friut. And I must say Fig Frangipane Tart is one of the best in town.

Drink here has much more wider selections than food. Find yourself a unique draft beer like Honey Appricot Ale. Or crafted bottle beer.

Flavors @Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotelotel

Flavors at Renaissance Bangkok Hotel is holding Malaysia food festival under the title of  "A Real Southeast Asian Treat.
Price : Sun-Thu
1,390B++  / Fri-Sat 1,690B++

To me, Flavors has their expertise on meat dish.Among all countless treats they provided, Raosted Tenderloin or Oven baked Lamb Shank are the start of the meal.

There were these 4 kinds of fancy herb infused salts at hot station. Lemon / Rosemary / Coffe / Vanilla. A nice boost up to meat dish.

Seafood on ice was also in good quality. If you fancy Foie gras, you have came to the right place. Pan fried thick cut Foie gras are served here with choice of Orange sauce or Red Wine sauce.

Another enjoyable meal to satisfy my greedy stomach. Cheers!
